A tragic shooting unfolded in Cape Town on Saturday afternoon when a 35-year-old woman was shot and killed in a parking lot near the Gatesville Mosque in Athlone.
The victim, who worked as an administrative clerk with the Kraaifontein police, had just stepped out of a vehicle with another woman when two armed men approached them. In a sudden burst of violence, shots were fired, leaving the younger woman dead and a 56-year-old woman seriously injured.
The wounded woman was rushed to a medical facility for treatment.
