King Misuzulu kaZwelithini Appoints Prince Africa Zulu as Royal Vice Chancellor of the Zulu Kingdom

In a major administrative move aimed at strengthening the governance, economic reach, and diplomatic relations of the Zulu Nation, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has officially appointed Prince Africa Zulu of Onkweni as the Royal Vice Chancellor of the Zulu Kingdom.

The official decree, signed and issued from the Emashobeni Royal Palace, took effect from October 7, 2026.

According to the royal proclamation, the newly formed or reinforced Office of the Royal Chancellor and Royal Vice Chancellor will operate strictly as an independent entity from the King’s Private Office, reporting directly to Misuzulu.

The appointment letter outlines eight critical core mandates entrusted to Prince Africa placing a massive emphasis on modernizing the kingdom’s engagement with both public and private sectors. Chief among these responsibilities is driving economic and social development.

Africa has been tasked with expanding community beneficiation, job creation, and entrepreneurship initiatives, with targeted focus areas encompassing youth, women, people with disabilities, and military veterans.

Furthermore, the mandate firmly establishes strict controls over international and investment relations involving the Crown.

The decree states that no international or domestic business undertakings may bind the Crown without explicit, written endorsement from Misuzulu.

In addition to economic development, the Africa will act as the principal liaison managing royal protocol with Amakhosi (traditional leaders), municipal councils, and institutional stakeholders.

Crucially, the document introduces rigid accountability guidelines.

Africa will oversee and monitor the performance of various royal structures, including the Office of the Traditional Prime Minister.

Misuzulu ,however, maintained an ultimate line of sovereignty, explicitly writing that “Decisions reserved to the Crown shall remain Ours.”

The mandate also provisions that Prince Africa Zulu will serve as the Acting Royal Chancellor during periods when the principal Chancellor is unavailable, incapacitated, or travelling abroad.

The document concludes with a powerful charge from the Misuzulu, emphasizing unity, the overall welfare of the Zulu people, and the preservation of the kingdom’s historic dignity.

Accepting the monumental role, Africa appended his signature to the document, taking a formal oath to discharge his royal duties faithfully and lawfully under the supreme direction of Misuzulu
