Singer Mawelele Drops Highly Anticipated 16-Track Album ‘PGLTM’ Celebrating Intention and Second Chances
South African singer-songwriter and pianist Mawelele has officially released his highly anticipated 16-track album, PGLTM (Pretty Girls Listen To Mawelele), today via gamma.
Centred on themes of love, reassurance, forgiveness, and second chances, the project captures a deeply personal chapter in Mawelele’s musical journey.
The album seamlessly blends soulful R&B and Afro-pop with heartfelt songwriting. PGLTM explores the spectrum of romance—from the initial excitement of new feelings to heartbreak, reconciliation, and the enduring hope of finding something genuine.
Mawelele assembled an impressive line-up of African music heavyweight collaborators for the project, including:Olivetheboy, Kwesta, Danya Devs, Nomfundo Moh, Ndu Browns, Tony Dayimane, Usimamane and Empro.
These guest appearances introduce diverse voices and dimensions to the album while keeping Mawelele’s core message of pure, intentional relationships at the center.
The album arrives on the heels of massive commercial momentum. Mawelele’s single “Ngiyaz’fela” featuring Kwesta—produced by Kinglee Beats—recently peaked at No. 3 on the Radio Monitor Top 100 Airplay Chart.
Meaning “I’m in love with you,” the soulful track has struck a massive chord with visual audiences as well; its music video crossed 1 million views within four days and has since climbed to 1.7 million views on YouTube.
This follows the explosive success of Mawelele and Kwesta’s previous collaborative hit, “All My Life,” which has accumulated staggering streaming numbers:19.7 million+ Spotify streams, 23 million+ YouTube viewsand 4.1 million+ Apple Music streams.
For Mawelele, PGLTM represents nearly a year of intense emotional output, healing, and personal reflection.
The artist hosted an intimate, exclusive listening session earlier this week, sharing the record with media and special guests before its global rollout.
“This album is very personal to me,” Mawelele shared. “It took almost a year to put together, a year of pouring my heart, my healing, and my truth into every record. At its core, it’s about love, reassurance, forgiveness and second chances.”
“With PGLTM, I wanted to make love cool again.
To bring it back to something pure, intentional and soft in a world that can feel so hard. I want people to bathe themselves and their loved ones in love and grace, and to feel seen and held when they listen.”
PGLTM is available now across all major digital streaming platforms.
