‘Tsotsi’ star Presley Chweneyagae also embroiled in Lotto scandal

Another Tsotsi star Presley Chweneyagae has been implicated in the continued National Lotteries Commission (NLC) fraud case being investigated by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).

According to 702, GroundUp investigative journalist Raymond Joseph revealed on Tuesday 13 December that over R67.5 million was obtained for tasks together with a musical occasion known as Taking Back the Future by the Southern African Youth Movement (SAYM) which the actor was reportedly an embassador of.

The information come a month after Chweneyagae’s co-star, Terry Pheto, was implicated in the identical scandal which entails the misappropriation of funds meant for the poor.

HOW PRESLEY CHWENEYAGAE IS ALLEGEDLY INVOLVED

PRESLEY CHWENEYAGAE REMAINS MUM ON THE ALLEGATIONS

The actor has not but responded to the allegations. However, SAYM board chairperson Dr Lekgotla Mafisa denied that the Chweneyagae Foundation is related to the undertaking.

“The board of SAYM took word of the danger of affiliation [and] at its personal discretion suggested the NLC that Chweneyagae Foundation wouldn’t take part as an get together in the undertaking.

“We hope that you are not going to use Mr Chweneyagae maliciously to sensationalise his participation in the project, of which he is not a beneficiary. The SAYM is a beneficiary and not the Chweneyagae Foundation. Mr Presley Chweneyagae was not paid in his personal capacity,” Mafisa instructed Joseph.
