MK Party Condemns GNU Military Deployment, Backs “March and March” Protest
The MK Party has called on the Government of National Unity (GNU) to cease its opposition to the “March and March” protest, declaring its full support for the demonstration as the matter heads to court today.
The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has firmly backed the demonstrators, asserting that citizens have a fundamental, constitutional right to protest.
In a sharp rebuke of the state’s response, the party strongly condemned the deployment of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in Durban, labeling the militarisation of the city as a characteristic tactic of the GNU administration.
