Zodwa Wabantu Faces Court Battle After Failing to Appear at Fully Paid KwaZulu-Natal Gigs

Controversial media personality and dancer Zodwa Wabantu is facing legal trouble after allegedly failing to show up for two highly anticipated events in KwaZulu-Natal on 26 September, despite being paid her appearance fees in full.

The entertainer was booked by Igezaa Production Company, a prominent Durban-based media firm owned by TV producer, director, and businessman Scelo Sibiya.

The company, which specializes in professional event planning, podcasting, and music video production, booked Zodwa for two separate appearances: one in Nongoma and another at the Oasis Club in Durban.

According to the event organizers, Zodwa disappeared on the day of the events, leaving hundreds of excited fans shocked and disappointed.

Expressing his frustration in an emotional statement, Sibiya condemned Zodwa’s actions, labeling the incident as fraudulent behavior that damages the integrity of the South African media and entertainment industry.

“I am deeply shocked by this behavior. Zodwa is killing careers by repeatedly failing to appear at events, and there are already many similar rumors trending about her around Durban.”

Sibiya confirmed that legal proceedings are underway. He revealed that Zodwa will soon be summoned to court, noting that certain financial invoices are currently being withheld as part of a deeper investigation into the matter.

The businessman stated that his primary goal is to recover his money. “All I want is my refund. That is all,” he said.

While Zodwa Wabantu has denied the allegations of wrongdoing, she has reportedly failed to provide proof to clear her name.
