Toyota Hilux “Gift”: Joe “Ferrari” Explains Vehicle Trail
Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni has set out the ownership trail of a Toyota Hilux examined by the Madlanga
Commission, with his supplementary statement expressly addressing what it calls the vehicle “as a gift”.
According to the statement, the ownership chain ran from McCarthy Motors to Gubis85, with TFS as title
holder and/or financier, before the vehicle was paid in full to Gubis85 and later transferred to MJS & Sons,
registered on 13 February 2026.
Sibanyoni maintained that the documentary chain was consistent with his principal statement.
The supplementary statement also anticipated questions about why the particular vehicle was transferred
or gifted to him and referred to security concerns previously raised at Centurion Golf Estate.
Sibanyoni’s explanation forms part of his response to evidence before the Commission. The description of
the vehicle as a gift does not, on its own, establish that the transfer was unlawful or connected to improper
conduct.
