South African music is entering the 2026 festive holidays with a brand-new love anthem. Soulful Amapiano vocalist Nia Pearl has teamed up with Goon Flavour to release “Murhandziwa,” an experimental track that fuses the emotional, smooth textures of Amapiano with the high-energy, infectious pulse of Lekompo.
Released today, 6 November 2026, the single lands just in time for the peak of South Africa’s summer wedding season and year-end celebrations.
The track serves as a massive milestone for Nia Pearl, born Peleka Lwana in eMthatha, Eastern Cape.
Best known for her powerful vocal contributions alongside heavyweights like Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, and Kelvin Momo—including her performance on the hit single “Shela,” which recently surpassed 30 million Spotify streams—this new release showcases her eagerness to push musical boundaries.
“Murhandziwa” explores the lighter, romantic side of dance music while keeping a driving rhythm that belongs on major festival dance floors.
According to Nia Pearl, the song is built entirely around raw emotion.
