SA Man (52) Arrested At OR Tambo With Suspected R2m Heroin
A 52-year-old South African man has been arrested at OR Tambo International Airport after arriving from Accra, Ghana, with substances suspected to be heroin worth more than R2 million.
SAPS and the Border Management Authority (BMA) intercepted the man today, Sunday during an intelligence-led operation.
A search of his luggage allegedly uncovered bullet-like objects and blocks containing the suspected drugs.
Police said the arrest is the third suspected drug-mule arrest at the airport in three weeks.
The man is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court next week on charges of drug trafficking.
Investigations are continuing.
