Rapper Usimamane Teams Up with American R&B Star Jacquees for New Cross-Continental Single ‘My Baby’

South African recording artist Usimamane has joined forces with contemporary American R&B singer Jacquees on a brand-new single titled “My Baby”, released today, 6 November 2026, via gamma.

The track seamlessly merges Usimamane’s melodic hip-hop delivery with Jacquees’ signature smooth vocals to explore themes of affection, commitment, and showing up for the ones you love.

The cross-continental collaboration is accompanied by an official music video filmed during Jacquees’ recent visit to South Africa.

The visuals feature scenes captured across Johannesburg, Soweto, and Usimamane’s hometown of Umlazi in Durban—a deliberate choice meant to immerse the American star in the local communities, culture, and environments that shaped Usimamane’s upbringing.

For Usimamane, the release represents a monumental milestone that transcends the music itself.

“For me, ‘My Baby’ is bigger than just a song. It represents how far I’ve come and how far South African music can go,” he shared.

“To now collaborate with an international R&B star like Jacquees, bring him to South Africa, and have him experience my hometown of Umlazi is something I’ll never forget.

Shooting the music video in Soweto and Umlazi was intentional because I wanted the world to see a piece of my reality.

This collaboration is proof that you don’t have to leave your roots behind to reach the world.”
“My Baby” serves as a major teaser for Usimamane’s highly anticipated sophomore album, Tai Lung, which is scheduled to drop later this month on 20 November 2026.

Following the success of his debut album, 20th: Days Before MAUD, and the Tai Lung’s Pain EP, this upcoming project is set to usher the rising star into the next definitive chapter of his career.
