Mashiane next to leave as Kaizer Chiefs swing the axe again

Kaizer Chiefs have continued their squad overhaul ahead of the new Betway Premiership season by confirming the departure of defender Happy Mashiane.
The Glamour Boys announced that Mashiane has left the club after both parties agreed to mutually terminate his contract, making him the latest player to exit Naturena during the ongoing clear-out under the club’s new technical leadership.
Mashiane joined the Kaizer Chiefs development academy as a teenager and steadily rose through the ranks before earning promotion to the senior team at the start of the 2019 season.
Although he showed flashes of his potential during his time with Amakhosi, the versatile defender struggled to cement a regular starting place and spent last season on loan at Siwelele FC.
Chiefs confirmed the news in a brief statement, thanking the player for his service.
“Kaizer Chiefs defender Happy Mashiane has left the club following the mutual termination of his contract.
“We sincerely thank Happy for his valuable contribution to Amakhosi and wish him all the best.”
Mashiane now becomes another high-profile departure as Chiefs reshape their squad under new head coach Fernando da Cruz.
George Matlou was the first to be released and his departure was announced on Wednesday afternoon, ending his five year stint at the club.
Amakhosi supporters are eagerly waiting to see who the club brings in as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for honours next season.
Mashiane has since taken to Instagram and made all the photos of him in Amakhosi gear into black and white.
