DStv Unveils New Look And Five-Tier Package Overhaul
DStv has unveiled a new black-and-“+” visual identity and a major overhaul of its South African streaming packages, marking a new chapter under Canal+ ownership.
The changes were announced at a media briefing at MultiChoice City in Randburg on Monday. Five new packages — Starter, Select, Sports, Movies & Series and Premium — launch on 17 September, replacing the current structure.
The new streaming packages are:
- Starter — R99, 85 channels
- Select — R299, 100 channels
- Sports — R399, 115 channels
- Movies & Series — R500, 115 channels
- Premium — R799, 130 channels
The Sports package will include Premier League and UEFA football, the PSL, cricket, local rugby, one URC match a week and UFC, while Formula 1, golf, ATP tennis and other premium sporting content remain on Premium.
Movies & Series will bring M-Net below Premium for the first time, alongside kykNET, movie channels, Discovery and BBC Earth.
DStv is also introducing new channel brands, including Wethu+, SuperSport Kickoff, SuperSport Football Plus, M-Net Movies+, Stars and Legends.
The revamp comes as DStv faces growing streaming competition and pressure on household budgets, with the company describing it as its biggest rethink of its package structure in 15 years.
