Lebogang Maboe Backs Pitso Mosimane to Succeed With Bafana Bafana

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebogang Maboe has thrown his full support behind Pitso Mosimane, backing the experienced coach to succeed in his second stint as Bafana Bafana head coach.

Mosimane was officially unveiled as Hugo Broos’ successor on Tuesday, returning to the national team 14 years after his previous spell ended.

Maboe, who worked under Mosimane at Mamelodi Sundowns, believes his deep understanding of South African football will give him a major advantage.

“It’s a very… firstly congratulations to coach Pitso, I’m very happy for him, he’s going to do so well in the national team,” Maboe said.

The Chiefs star was part of the Sundowns squad that dominated domestic football under Mosimane, winning the league title in all four seasons they worked together.

“He’s a coach that knows this league so well, he knows how South African players are, he will really do well in the national team,” Maboe added.

The midfielder will now hope his strong form at Chiefs earns him a Bafana recall.
