UK Police Launch Global Manhunt for Zimbabwean Man After Wife and Two Daughters Found Dead
Three family members found dead in luxury Bedford home as murder investigation intensifies
British police have launched an international manhunt for a Zimbabwean born British citizen accused of murdering his wife and their two young daughters before fleeing the United Kingdom.
The victims, Zandile Tshuma, her 15 year old daughter Natalie, and five year old Nala, were discovered dead inside the family’s £1.3 million detached home in Great Denham, near Bedford, after concerned relatives and friends raised the alarm when they had not been seen for several days.
Police forced entry into the property on Monday, 7 July, during a welfare check. Detectives believe all three were murdered.
The suspect, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, 45, who is also known as Mark Tshuma, is now the focus of an international search led by Bedfordshire Police under Operation Snowdrift.
Suspect allegedly fled to Zimbabwe before bodies were discovered
Investigators say CCTV footage captured Tshuma at Heathrow Airport on Saturday, 5 July, where he is believed to have boarded a flight to Zimbabwe using his British passport. Authorities believe he left the country two days before the bodies were found.
Police are now working closely with international law enforcement agencies, including authorities in Zimbabwe, to trace his whereabouts.
In a direct appeal, detectives urged Tshuma to hand himself in, saying his disappearance has added to the pain of grieving relatives and close friends.
Authorities have stressed that there is no indication of any wider threat to the public.
Divorce proceedings reportedly under way
The tragedy unfolded against the backdrop of a reported marital breakdown.
According to friends of the family, Zandile had decided to end the relationship after allegedly becoming increasingly concerned about Mark’s controlling behaviour. The couple were reportedly separating and had already placed their home on the market.
Friends also claimed that Mark had previously said he “couldn’t live without her and the children.”
Despite the reported separation, the couple were seen together at a school sports day just days before Tshuma allegedly fled the country.
Respected professional and devoted mother
Zandile Tshuma was widely respected in the financial crime and technology sectors.
She built a successful career specialising in fraud prevention, anti money laundering and financial crime investigations, working with major organisations including Barclays and KPMG. She also served as vice chair of the Female Fraud Forum, where she was recognised for supporting women working in financial crime prevention.
Her daughters attended prestigious private schools in Bedford. Natalie was a pupil at Bedford Girls’ School, while five year old Nala attended Pilgrims Pre Prep.
The family, originally from Zimbabwe, settled in Bedford in 2011 and had established themselves within the local community.
Shock among neighbours
Neighbours described the family as successful, friendly and well established. They said the household owned luxury vehicles, including a BMW, and had recently completed major renovations to their home, including the installation of a swimming pool.
The discovery of the three bodies has left residents stunned as forensic teams continue to examine the property.
Investigation continues
Police have not yet disclosed the causes of death, pending post mortem examinations.
The investigation remains active as detectives work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deaths and locate Tshuma.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts has been urged to contact Bedfordshire Police immediately or report information through the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
