Sekhukhune United appoints former Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze

Sekhukhune United have officially announced the appointment of Cedric Kaze as the club’s new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
The 46-year-old Burundian tactician brings a wealth of experience, having worked with the Burundi national team, the FC Barcelona Academy in Canada, and Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC.
Kaze is also well known in South African football after serving as one of Kaizer Chiefs’ co-coaches before leaving Naturena at the end of last season.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science, as well as CAF A and German Football Federation A coaching licences. He was also part of the technical team that guided Young Africans to the 2023 CAF Confederation Cup final.
Sekhukhune United CEO Jonas Malatji welcomed Kaze’s arrival, expressing confidence in what he will bring to the club.
“As the club continues to pursue its ambitions, we are delighted to welcome Coach Kaze to Sekhukhune United. His extensive football background, proven leadership and valuable understanding of the Betway Premiership and the South African football landscape give us great confidence as we look ahead,” said Malatji.
Kaze is expected to begin work immediately as Babina Noko prepare for the new campaign, with the club hoping to build on last season’s progress and remain among the country’s top contenders.
