Empowering Sisterhood: Umfazi Womxhosa event set to celebrate and unite women across South Africa
As women celebrate their month, the founder of Umfazi Womxhosa, Bulelani “Buli” Mooi, is bringing South African women together for unity, empowerment, and celebration ahead of Women’s Day on 8 August 2026.
Umfazi Womxhosa is a community-driven organisation and sisterhood that launched on Wednesday in Midrand, Gauteng.
Born from a vision of women seeking connection, collaboration, and shared growth, the organisation provides a platform for women from all walks of life to come together, exchange ideas, build meaningful partnerships, and support one another through life’s many milestones.
Guided by the spirit of “Abafazi Belizwe,” known as Women of the Nation, Umfazi Womxhosa celebrates womanhood, cultural heritage, entrepreneurship, leadership, and community development.
Through its initiatives, the organisation seeks to empower women, preserve cultural identity, and create opportunities for personal and economic growth.
Bulelani is a dynamic entrepreneur, wife, mother, and founder of the Bulela Foundation, with extensive experience in food and beverage management, event planning, marketing, and non-profit leadership.
She combines a strong academic background with a proven track record of success across business, community development, and social impact initiatives.
Through her leadership, she has championed programmes that empower women and youth while creating platforms that foster inclusion, skills development, and entrepreneurship.
Through the Bulela Foundation, Bulelani has collaborated with respected organisations including the 31 Club and the Tshegofatso GBV Organisation, supporting initiatives focused on empowering youth and women, advocating against gender-based violence, and strengthening community development efforts.
Attendees are expected to walk away from this occasion with inspiration and solid networks that reinforce the importance of collective efforts towards women’s empowerment, social cohesion, and economic participation.
Umfazi Womxhosa promises to be a memorable day of celebrating and honouring women through culture, music, entertainment, fashion, empowerment, and authentic African cuisine.
The event will provide a platform for connection, inspiration, and meaningful engagement while showcasing the strength, resilience, and contributions of women within our communities.
The media launch for this illustrious event was scheduled for 1 July 2026 in Midrand, Johannesburg, to set the tone and expectations ahead of the main event on 8 August 2026 in Gqeberha.
