Bandile The Creator apologizes to Sjava and Amanda Black for rape accusations
Creative Bandile the Creator who is famously known as “Buhle the Creator” by social media users has issued an official public apology to Sjava and Amanda Black.
The public apology stems from a false sexual assault rumour that circulated heavily on social media platforms.
In early 2025, a video circulated online showing Amanda Black breaking down emotionally on stage during a live performance.
Creators and online accounts maliciously captioned the video, falsely claiming she was crying because she had allegedly been sexually assaulted by Sjava.
Amanda Black immediately shut down the fake news on Instagram and refuted the claims stating firmly that the Madludlu hitmaker did not sexually violate him.
“Sjava did not sexually assault me. I have no idea where these rumours came from,” she wrote.”
In a statement released on Thursday morning, BUHLE The Creator whose real name is Bandile Muhlwe wrote:
“I, Bandile Muhlwa, the First Respondent in the matter between Jabulani Makhubo-Hadebe (professionally known as “Sjava”) and myself, issue this unequivocal public apology and retraction to Sjava.I acknowledge, unequivocally, that I was the originator of the defamatory campaign against Sjava. I initiated and published statements, posts, comments and content on various social media platforms which gave rise to and fuelled the widespread dissemination of the false allegations against him.
“I further acknowledge and admit that I lied; the statements I made were false and untrue. The allegations that I published, including accusations of rape and/or sexual assault, had no factual basis and were incorrect. These false statements had a negative impact on the lives of both Sjava and Amanda Black. I sincerely and unreservedly apologise to Sjava for publishing these false statements and for their extensive circulation across various social media platforms.”
Buhle The Creator further wrote that he recognise that his actions caused significant harm to his dignity, reputation, and professional standing, particularly given the wide reach of his following on social media and the engagement of his posts, which have now been deleted.
“I further apologise for failing to properly engage with and comply with the legal processes initiated against me, including ignoring correspondence and failing to take appropriate steps to resolve this matter timeously. I acknowledge that this conduct unnecessarily prolonged the litigation and contributed to the escalation of the dispute.
“I expressly acknowledge that my conduct has resulted in Sjava incurring substantial legal costs. I undertake to reimburse Sjava in full for all legal costs incurred as a consequence of my actions, in accordance with the Court’s order.I hereby give a firm and binding undertaking that I will not publish, post, comment on, or make any statements whatsoever about Sjava in the future, whether positive or negative, on any platform or medium.I make this apology freely and voluntarily, and I acknowledge the seriousness of my conduct and its impact. I express my sincere remorse to Sjava and commit to ensuring that no such conduct is repeated,” he wrote.
