Mayibuye Condemns The Brutal Murder of Skeem Mafenya and Calls for Visible Policing
MALAMULELE: The Afrika Mayibuye Movement has condemned the brutal murder of 20-year-old comedian and content creator Khadziyane Ndivhuwo, popularly known as Skeem Mafenya, calling for justice while pledging to make community safety a top priority should it take over the governance of Collins Chabane Local Municipality.
Ndivhuwo’s killing in Madonsi Boltman B, within the Malamulele policing area, has sent shockwaves through the local community and the creative industry, with the movement describing his death as a devastating loss for his family, friends and the people of Vhembe.
In a statement released on Sunday, 18 October 2026, Afrika Mayibuye Movement expressed grief and outrage over the death of the young content creator, whose humour and talent had earned him recognition among his supporters.
The movement said Ndivhuwo represented the energy and potential of South Africa’s youth, adding that his life had been cut short at a time when he still had much to contribute to the entertainment industry and society.
The movement also welcomed the South African Police Service’s response to the killing, following the arrest of three suspects allegedly connected to the crime.
It called on the criminal justice system to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice, stressing that accountability must be pursued swiftly and thoroughly.
The arrests come as the murder of the young comedian has drawn attention to concerns about community safety and violent crime in the area.
Looking ahead to the 2026 Local Government Elections, Afrika Mayibuye Movement said safety would be among its priorities if it assumed control of Collins Chabane Municipality.
The movement pledged to work closely with law enforcement agencies and community-based policing forums, while using available municipal resources to strengthen local safety interventions.
It said municipal leadership should not remain passive in the face of crime, adding that communities needed safer streets and neighbourhoods.
The movement further extended its condolences to Ndivhuwo’s family, friends and the wider arts and entertainment fraternity in Limpopo.
His murder has left a painful void among those who knew and supported him, while the movement has called for justice for the young comedian.
