Wirtgen South Africa is set to showcase its advanced HAMM compaction technology at NAMPO 2026, reinforcing its commitment to supporting South Africa’s agricultural sector with innovative infrastructure solutions.
The event, regarded as one of the largest agricultural trade exhibitions in the Southern Hemisphere, will take place from 12–15 May 2026 in Bothaville. Wirtgen South Africa says the exhibition provides a critical platform to engage directly with farmers, agricultural contractors, rural municipalities, and other key stakeholders involved in infrastructure development.
According to the company, the agricultural sector is increasingly focused on improving farm infrastructure to boost operational efficiency, lower costs, and enhance profitability. As a result, compaction equipment has become an essential part of farm development projects such as road construction, dam walls, irrigation systems, and storage facilities.
Wirtgen South Africa, which represents the full Wirtgen, Vögele, HAMM, Kleemann, Benninghoven, and Ciber portfolio locally, plans to feature several HAMM compaction models during the exhibition. These include the HAMM HD Series tandem rollers, the HP280 pneumatic roller, and the HC series soil compactors designed for heavy-duty earthworks and stabilisation projects.
Waylon Kukard, Sales Manager at Wirtgen South Africa, said the selected line-up was specifically chosen to support agricultural infrastructure projects.
“We have specifically chosen this line-up because it supports farm infrastructure development, including farm roads, silo bases, dam walls, agricultural storage platforms, and irrigation-related earthworks,” Kukard explained.
The company says the HAMM HC series compactors are particularly suited for soil preparation, levelling work, and dam construction, while the HD tandem rollers and HP280 pneumatic roller help create smooth and durable internal farm roads capable of handling heavy traffic and logistics movement.
Beyond machinery, Wirtgen South Africa is also highlighting digital and data-driven solutions through the Wirtgen Group and John Deere ecosystems. Technologies such as the John Deere Operations Center, Smart Compaction Concepts, VIO drums, and ECO Mode are designed to improve machine efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and provide real-time compaction monitoring.
Kukard noted that the agricultural industry is increasingly demanding multipurpose machinery, improved operational transparency, and sustainable solutions.
“We have also seen the rising demand for digital transparency and efficiency. Wirtgen’s digital platforms and machine health monitoring respond to farmers’ need for cost control, uptime, and data-supported decision making,” he said.
Wirtgen South Africa added that sustainability remains a major focus area, with the HAMM range designed to contribute towards lower emissions, reduced fuel usage, and improved environmental performance.
The company further reaffirmed its commitment to after-sales service, training, and spare parts availability across South Africa as part of its broader mission to support customer success and operational continuity.
