The fifth season of The Crown hit Netflix on 9 November and the “tampongate” scene between King Charles III and his then “mistress” Camilla has set tongues wagging on Twitter.

WHAT IS ‘TAMPONGATE’?
The fifth season of The Crown was set to cowl the alleged affair between King Charles and his then “mistress”, who’s now the Queen Consort.
The sequence devoted a whole episode to the pair’s “tampongate” – an specific phone dialog between them which was leaked. So, why is that this referred to as tampongate?
According to Harper Bazaar, the non-public phone dialog between His Majesty and Camilla happened whereas they had been nonetheless married to their respective spouses. The dialog happened in December 1989 and was secretly recorded and leaked to the press.
