THABONG MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED MURDER OF GIRLFRIEND
A 37-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly fatally wounded following a domestic dispute in Thabong.
It is alleged that on Sunday, 25 May 2025, police were summoned to a scene of a possible murder in Thabong.
Lejweleputswa Policespokesperson Sergent Palesa Thabana said On arrival, they discovered a lifeless body of a woman lying on a sofa with multiple injuries on her face and blood stains on the floor.
It is alleged that on Saturday night, 24 May 2025, an altercation ensued between the couple over a house key.The suspect then allegedly physically assaulted the 36-year-old victim and left her on the couch overnight. The suspect allegedly went to seek assistance in the morning when he realised that his girlfriend was motionless. The 36-year-old female victim was declared dead by the emergency services.
The suspect was subsequently arrested for murder.
He will appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 27 May 2025.
