The coronavirus pandemic has driven the word vaccination and the activities around it to a frenzy. This has been the case in the past 24 months.
It is not new in our medical terminology.
Medical scientists have helped the public to know how important this can be. It applies to both babies and grandparents.
Usually, the production of vaccines follows a well defined process from the test tube to human bodies.
Before the final roll out, human trials are made in diverse ways. This takes a considerable length of time to ensure its efficacy and safety.
However, the arrival of Coronavirus in December 2019 from Wuhan, China changed everything. The speed and spread of the infection drove virologists working at breakneck speed. The aim was to get a vaccine to check spread and save lives.
But a number of things about the how of the production raised eyebrows. Countries and pharmaceutical firms became competitors.
The race to come up with a vaccine became fierce. Everyone wanted to be the first to announce a breakthrough. So many shortcuts were introduced. No one wanted to submit to the controlling body which regulates such activities.
The commercial angle crept in and for them, the firms in different continents carved sales territories before certified and approved vials emerged.
In some countries, more people have died of various diseases than Coronavirus. Many of them never received such global attention as COVID-19.
Allegations of dangerous compromises were swept aside by the bigger, but fewer voices. Huge investments were made and it was time to keep eye on Return on Investment, ROI.
In the midst of jabs and repeated jabs, less attention was paid to strange cases and reactions on patients. Fresh infections even came on people who had taken more than a jab.
Rather than deal with these, main stream media colluded with the firms to silence dissenting views. People’s faith in the vaccines are largely shaken.
They are still left undecided about whether or not to take the jab.
