Terrence Born targets more glory after EFC Heavyweight title
Terrence “The Mountain” Born is now the king of African heavyweight MMA, and he is not finished.
The undefeated South African captured the EFC Heavyweight Championship at EFC 138 at the World Sports Betting EFC Arena in Johannesburg earlier this month, stretching his perfect run in the organisation to 5-0.
It is a rise that has been impossible to ignore. Since making his EFC debut, Born has climbed from rising contender to champion, using relentless pressure and devastating power to become a heavyweight who is difficult to stop and even harder to break.
His nickname says it all: strength, resilience, discipline and a refusal to stop moving forward. For Born, the gold is about far more than a belt.
“Becoming EFC Heavyweight Champion is something I’ve worked towards through years of sacrifice, discipline and belief,” he said after the win. “The title is a huge achievement, but it’s also a reminder that the work doesn’t stop here.”
Outside the cage, Born is fast becoming one of South African combat sports’ biggest personalities. Through media interviews, podcasts and promotional work, he has used his growing platform to lift the profile of MMA and fly the South African flag on an increasingly international stage.
With the title around his waist and an unblemished EFC record behind him, Born is now the heavyweight name to watch in African MMA.
And for “The Mountain,” this is only the beginning.
