PARKWEG – A 32-year-old foreign national will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of possession of drugs and reckless and negligent driving. His vehicle was also seized as evidence to be used during trial. On Wednesday 23 October 2024 at about 11:10, members in civilian clothing were pro-actively following information of drug activities around Manguang Metro, CBD. While patrolling, they spotted a suspicious silver VW Polo in town, of which the driver was alleged to have been delivering drugs in Navalsig. The vehicle was then tactically pursued to where it eventually parked at flats in Raymond Mhlaba Street. The suspect attempted to flee however while speeding off, he bumped into a police vehicle when he was intercepted. Police approached him, searched the vehicle and confiscated the drugs, of which some were found hidden in the ventilators of the vehicle. CAT drugs with an estimated street value of R141 000 were seized. The suspect is set to appear in court soon.
