Media Statement MDANTSANE – A 30-year-old male suspect was arrested in Mdantsane on Monday evening, 17 February 2025, in connection with a case of pointing a firearm. On a swift reaction, police apprehended the suspect at approximately 17:45. Upon searching him, officers discovered a 9mm pistol with an obliterated serial number. The firearm was found with a magazine containing two live rounds. On investigation police discovered that the firearm was stolen at Duncan Village in December 2024. The suspect is set to appear before the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court on 19 February 2025, facing charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of live ammunition. Ends
