Walter Sisulu University’s residence manager, Manelisi Mampane, is expected to apply for bail today at the Mthatha Magistrate’s Court following allegations that he fatally shot a student on campus.
The victim, Sisonke Mbolekwa, was reportedly killed during a student protest last week over poor living conditions in the university’s residences. The incident has sparked outrage among students, who are now urging the court to deny Mampane bail.
