Media Statement NORTH WEST – As part of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children awareness campaign, Setlagole police station and their local Community Police Forum (CPF) embarked on a campaign at Morolong Zion Christian Church (ZCC) on Friday, 29 November 2024. Captain Afred Moroka encouraged the audience not to be victims, but to: * Break the cycle of violence * Break the silence * Know your rights * Act against abuse * Do not look away Furthermore, the CPF Deputy Chairperson, Gracious Mogotsi said that the prevalence of GBVF in the country reminds us that we all need to work together to end it. In another related activity on Sunday, 1 December 2024, at the Free Zion Apostolic Church of South Africa based at Lopapeng Section, it was highlighted that over the years, the campaign raised awareness of the devastating impact that GBVF has on women and children, and the social fabric of our society. The CPF member, Mr Olifant, urged the public to unite with law enforcement authorities and support the comprehensive initiatives to eliminate violence against women. In conclusion, the District Commissioner of Ngaka Modiri Molema, Major General Mmatlhapi Mmolawa expressed her appreciation for the initiatives, which she said are crucial to establish safer households and communities.
