The South African Police Service’s Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) has secured a J50 warrant for the arrest of National Coloured Congress leader and MP Fadiel Adams on charges of fraud and defeating the course of justice.
Police allege Adams interfered with the investigation into the 2017 murder of ANC Youth League leader Sindiso Magaqa by contacting the convicted hitman, Sibusiso Ncengwa, at a critical stage of the probe.
Adams was expected to hand himself over at Cape Town Central Police Station on Monday, 4 May 2026, but failed to appear. Multiple attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful.
The warrant follows public clashes between Adams and the task team, after he claimed new information from the hitman implicated police officers in the killing.
Adams has not yet commented publicly on the warrant. Police are urging him to surrender immediately.
