Puso Dithejane reveals what Lewandowski is teaching him
In-form Chicago Fire winger Puso Dithejane has revealed how Robert Lewandowski is helping him improve his game.
The 22-year-old has transformed his fortunes in the United States after initially struggling for regular game time following his move from TS Galaxy in January. Dithejane spent much of the first part of the season on the bench. However, his form improved after the 2026 FIFA World Cup break.
He has since become a regular for Chicago Fire and has rewarded coach Gregg Berhalter with impressive performances. Dithejane scored his first goal for the club in a 3-2 defeat to Inter Miami. That match also marked Lewandowski’s Chicago Fire debut.
The former Kaizer Chiefs player has now scored three goals in his last three matches. He says Lewandowski has played an important role in his development. “Lewandowski has been helping me with finishing, getting into spaces and teaching me how to relax in the box,” Dithejane said. “That’s how we learn from legends.”
Dithejane also believes the team’s recent success has been driven by the right mentality. “We have lots of games coming and we told ourselves we have to win all those games,” he said.
“It’s all in the mind. The mentality has to be right going into a game and we go to win.”
