Pirates assistant makes admission ahead of tricky Kruger United test
Orlando Pirates are expecting a difficult encounter when they face Betway Premiership newcomers Kruger United on Tuesday evening.
The two teams will meet at Mbombela Stadium in what will be their first official encounter. The game is set for a 7.30 pm kickoff.
Pirates assistant coach Rayaan Jacobs believes the match could be tricky.
However, he says the Buccaneers are focused on building on their recent performance and collecting all three points.
“The next fixture is against Kruger United, the new boys in the league,” Jacobs said. “For us, we have to build on the performance from Saturday.
“It was a good result and a good performance. We know it will be a tricky fixture on Tuesday.
“Our main objective was to recover well. “We understand that Kruger probably had a week to prepare, but our objective is to get ready and make sure we can collect all three points on the road.”
Pirates will therefore have to manage their recovery carefully after Saturday’s big win over Sekhukhune United in the MTN8.
Kruger, meanwhile, will be looking to use their longer preparation time to their advantage.
With the teams meeting for the first time in a competitive fixture, Pirates know they cannot afford to underestimate the league newcomers.
Here is how they line up for the match:
Kruger Starting XI: Ntwari, Mukumela, Sibiya, Mohamme, Seedat, Nel, Tavengwa, Makhubela, Mphothe, Malatjie, Zwane.
Subs: Dandjinou, Ndlela, Sibanyoni, Ndlovu, Thwala, Matima, Makhubu, Mngonyama, Mahlangu
