On Tuesday, 07 May 2024 at approximately 17:50, the members performed high-density stop and search operations in Philippi area when they acted on crucial information received regarding drug related activities at a residence in Bristol Road, Browns Farm. The members pounced on the identified premises where they encountered the suspect. They ensued with a search which led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of drugs, including tik, mandrax and ecstasy tablets. The members also seized dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal drug trade. Subsequent to the discovery, the members arrested the 40-year-old suspect who now faces a charge of dealing in drugs. The suspect is expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrates’ court, once charged. Ends
