Media Invite PRETORIA – The Minister of Police, Mr Senzo Mchunu, the Deputy Ministers of Police, Mr Cassel Mathale and Ms Polly Boshielo will officiate over proceedings at the official opening of a three-day Employee Health And Wellness (EHW) work shop aimed at strengthening programs to enhance overall mental, physical and psychological well-being of members in the South African Police Service (SAPS). Held under the theme, “Redefining and Repositioning Service Offering to SAPS Human Capital, Nurturing Talent from Recruitment to Retirement”, this session aims to redefine and enhance employee health and wellness services offered within SAPS, ensuring a healthier, more resilient workforce while improving employee morale and overall well-being. Daily, police officers put their lives at risk while executing the mandate of the SAPS and are often exposed to high-stress and traumatic situations. Without proper debriefing and support, these experiences can lead to emotional distress, burnout, increased risk of PTSD, depression, reduced work performance and morale. The work session will bring together members from various divisions and police stations nationwide for structured discussions, presentations, and interactive panel engagements.
Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the event. The details are as follows: End
