MDNtv Lands Four Major North West Media Awards 2026 Nominations

MDNtv is celebrating a landmark achievement after being shortlisted in four major categories at the North West Media Awards 2026, placing the nonprofit news organisation among the province’s top-performing media brands.
The nominations, announced on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, recognise excellence in journalism, digital innovation and multimedia storytelling. The winners will be crowned during the official awards ceremony on 10 December 2026 at Sun City Resort.
MDNtv has been nominated in the following categories:

- 🏆 Online Media House of the Year 2026
- 🏆 Social Media Platform of the Year 2026
- 🏆 Videographer of the Year 2026
Receiving four nominations in one year is a significant recognition of the newsroom’s work and reflects the growing impact of independent, community-focused journalism in South Africa.
Over the past year, MDNtv journalists have reported from courtrooms, crime scenes, Parliament, government briefings and communities across the country, often breaking major stories and bringing audiences live coverage of events as they unfolded.
The nominations also recognise the work happening behind the scenes, from reporters and editors to camera operators, producers and digital teams who ensure millions of people receive fast, factual and accessible news every day.
The North West Media Awards celebrate excellence in the media industry under the theme “Celebrating Excellence. Honouring Passion. Inspiring Impact.” This year’s awards ceremony will feature a red carpet from 17:00, followed by the main event at 18:00 at Sun City Resort on 10 December 2026.
