Dube, 44, was gunned down at her home in Wallmannsthal, north of Tshwane, on 13 June 2026. Her killing sparked widespread concern over political violence in Gauteng and prompted an intensive investigation by the Gauteng Political Killings Task Team.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the arrested suspect or revealed a possible motive behind the killing. Investigators are expected to provide further details as court proceedings unfold.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, where he is expected to face charges relating to Dube’s murder.
