March and March cuts ties with Ngizwe Mchunu pending probe
The anti-illegal immigration movement March and March has ended its working relationship with activist and former radio presenter Ngizwe Mchunu pending further investigations into alleged attempts to destabilise the organisation.
In a statement today, Monday, the movement said an internal governance and legal compliance investigation found evidence of alleged efforts by political figures and business cartels to undermine the organisation, including claims of “an offer and acceptance of gratification” in exchange for influencing the movement.
After considering the findings and consulting stakeholders, March and March said it had resolved not to work with Mchunu while investigations continue.
The decision comes about a month after the group’s 30 June nationwide anti-illegal immigration march. The movement said it remains committed to its campaign and will only work with individuals it trusts.
