Malamulele 14 Year Old Girl Missing After Salon Visit as Police Launch Search
MALAMULELE, LIMPOPO: A family in Malamulele is living through a nightmare after 14 year old Masingita Hlungwani vanished shortly after visiting a local salon, leaving her loved ones and community searching for answers.
As schools prepare to reopen for the third term, Masingita’s classmates are expected to return to classrooms without one of their own. Instead of a normal school day, they face the distressing reality that their friend remains missing.
Police in the Malamulele policing area have opened a missing person case and are appealing to members of the public to assist in finding the teenager.
According to information provided by police, Masingita visited a salon on Saturday, 18 July 2026, at approximately 14:00. After leaving the salon, she reportedly went in an unknown direction and has not been seen since.
Her cellphone has also remained switched off, raising further concern among her family and investigators.
At the time of her disappearance, Masingita was wearing black leggings, a pink T shirt, a white jersey and navy blue shoes.
Family members and police officers have conducted searches in surrounding areas and attempted to trace her movements through friends and possible contacts. However, these efforts have not yet led to any breakthrough.
The disappearance has caused growing concern within the Malamulele community, with residents urged to remain alert and share any information that could help bring the teenager home safely.
Police confirmed that investigations into the disappearance are continuing.
