Mamelodi Sundowns will allow defender Lyle Lakay to leave the club after the player’s swift fall down the pecking order at the PSL champions.
Lakay has gone from defender of the season to a player on loan and now headed for the exit door.
Lakay told to leave it appears
In a report by SABC Sport, it’s suggested that defender Lyle Lakay, who was in line for a return from a loan spell with Cape Town City, will in fact now bid farewell to the club.
Lakay’s future at Sundowns always seemed unclear after he was loaned out in what did come as quite a surprise at the time, and now it’s reported that his contract will not be renewed when it expires soon.

Sundowns could be ripped apart
Mamelodi Sundowns are bracing themselves for a raid by Saudi clubs that have unlimited resources in the transfer market.
There is plenty of money to throw at the players considering the Public Investment Fund (PIF) now owns 75 percent of Al Nassr, Al Ahli, Al Hilal, and Al Ittihad.
Cristiano Ronaldo is on the books of Al Nassr.
Themba “Mshishi” Zwane, Thapelo Morena and Namibian international striker Peter Shalulile.
The number of interested players could rise to five, reports iDiski Times.
It remains to be seen if Sundowns can keep their players given the transfer fees on offer. The other question is whether the Sundowns stars themselves would be able to reject some big salary offers.
These star names could be linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and even David de Gea.
France striker Karim Benzema sensationally quit Real Madrid to join Al Ittihad.
Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante looks set to join him. David de Gea is about to be out of contract and will quit Manchester United if they bring in a new goalkeeper with Jordan Pickford and Andre Onana on the wishlist.
ZWANE COULD JOIN THE BIG TIME
Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has been linked with a £50 million move to the Premier League with Chelsea or Manchester United.
Onana was a player at Ajax when current Manchester United Erik ten Tag was in charge of the Dutch side. Onana is excellent with the ball at his feet and impressed during Inter’s run to the Champions League final.
Ruben Neves has made 253 appearances for Wolves, scoring 30 goals, since arriving in 2017. But the Premier League star is now on the brink of leaving with Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal agreeing a £47 million deal.
