26 October 2024 – Banyana Banyana midfielder Kholosa Biyana earned her 50th cap in the first-ever international match between the South African Senior Women’s National Team and Denmark last night.
While coach Dr Desiree Ellis’ charges lost 0-5 at Aalborgh Stadium on Friday night, the Sasol-sponsored side still celebrated a huge milestone after the match as “Fox”, as Biyana is known, accomplished a record very few players reach.
Speaking to www.safa.net, Biyana said that the seven years of hard work she has put in have been worth it.
“I am very happy with my accomplishments and knowing that I have played a role in Women’s football. It has not been an easy journey but here we are,” said Biyana.
Biyana, who holds an Honors in Biokenetics and Diploma in Radiography , has also ventured into Football Tactical analysis as she looks to her future, but I am adamant to continue playing football.
“I want to play for as long as possible. It is because of football that I have achieved so much and I want to give back to the game when I am done playing, hence my venturing into Football Tactical analysis.
“I want to thank my family for all their support over the year’s and to encourage young girls out there to go and follow their dreams. I am a testimony that you can “LiveTheImpossible.”
