The Johannesburg Flying Squad, in collaboration with Ekurhuleni South Crime Intelligence, arrested two suspects during an intelligence-driven operation targeting suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery case in Springs.

One suspect was arrested in Barcelona, Putfontein, and found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol, a magazine and 13 live rounds of ammunition.

According to SAPS reports the firearm was reported stolen in connection with a Randfontein case opened in July 2026.

A second suspect was arrested in Kwa-Thema and found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol with its serial number filed off.

Police recovered two unlicensed 9mm pistols, two magazines and 17 live rounds of ammunition. Investigations are continuing.
