Honeydew Police Seize Suspected Cocaine Worth R300 Million in Intelligence-Driven Operation
Honeydew police have intensified efforts to disrupt the illicit drug trade following the seizure of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of R300 million during an intelligence-driven operation in Northriding in Gauteng.
According to reports on Saturday, at approximately 20:30, members of Honeydew SAPS conducted an operation at a plot in Northriding after receiving information regarding suspected illicit drug-related activities.
The information was swiftly operationalised, resulting in the recovery of the suspected cocaine.
During the operation, police also seized a black Land Cruiser SUV after it was allegedly found displaying false registration numbers and with an allegedly altered Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
No arrests have been made at this stage. Police investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the seizure.
Police will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations aimed at disrupting the illicit drug trade and other serious crimes.
Police will also continue working with other law-enforcement stakeholders and communities to ensure that criminal activities are effectively addressed.
