Hawks arrested a suspect for fraud and theft

WESTERN CAPE – The Hawks’ Bellville based Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team have on 30 January 2025 arrested a 56-year-old suspect for fraud and theft.

The suspect was a bookeeper at Province Lightning Rubicon in Bothasig.  She allegedly created fraudulent invoices in the names of the suppliers of the business. It was further alleged that the suspect changed the banking details on the invoices to reflect her personal bank account. The amount that was deposited into her bank account between 2018 and 2022 amounted to R3 736 341.59.

The suspect will make her first appearance in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on 31 January 2025.
