Fire incident corner of Mooi and Kerk streets
Emergency Management Services firefighters rapidly responded to a fire incident at corner of Mooi and Kerk streets in the Johannesburg CBD on Friday morning.
According Johannesburg EMS Media Liason Officer Xolile Khumalo the fire was reported to EMS shortly before 6:00 A.M. this morning.
“At this stage, there are no confirmed reports of injuries.The fire started on the second floor of the building and has since been contained.
Firefighters remain on scene conducting overhaul operations and monitoring for hotspots,” she said.
Khumalo further said EMS Inspectors are on scene and will commence investigations as soon as all fire operations are concluded.
She said residents of Johannesburg are urged to remain cautious when using electrical appliances.
