DJ Kwame Joins Forces With TomyV For Hard-Hitting New 3-Step Single “Izwi Lendoda”

South African producer, DJ, and sonic storyteller DJ Kwame is gearing up to release his highly anticipated second single, “Izwi Lendoda”, a powerful collaboration with TomyV that tackles deep-seated social inequalities through the lens of modern electronic music.
Built around a driving 3-Step sound signature, the track serves as a bold commentary on how modern society measures a man’s worth by his financial standing.
The song explores the harsh reality of how men without wealth or social status are frequently dismissed and silenced, while those with influence and deep pockets are given immediate attention and value.
Through its combination of a captivating dancefloor groove and deeply heartfelt lyrics, “Izwi Lendoda” aims to challenge listeners to reflect on the prejudices and everyday inequalities that remain prevalent across communities.
Born Kwame Nkrumah Mahlanga in Ivory Park outside Midrand, the Afrotech and house music producer has consistently positioned himself as more than just an individual playing tracks behind the decks.
Instead, he views his craft as a form of cultural communication meant to speak directly to the struggles and triumphs of everyday people.
His musical roots stretch back to his high school days when a friend introduced him to the iconic Club Y compilations by DJ Fresh on Y-FM.
Influenced by legends such as the late Fana Khaba (Khabzela), DJ Monde, Glen Lewis, Oskido, and DJ Mbuso, Kwame pursued a diploma as a radio practitioner.
He later transitioned from a technical radio producer at Hillbrow Community Radio to producing flagship shows at Kaya FM, including The Uncaptured, KayaBiz, and Today with John Perlman.
Kwame first expanded his footprint across Southern Africa in 2015 following the rollout of his House Devotions mixtape series, which earned him performance slots in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Botswana.
He later expanded his discography in 2020 with the rollout of his debut EP and the subsequent hit single “Abana Mali”, a collaborative effort with vocalist Mthandazo Gatya.”Izwi Lendoda” serves as the secondary glimpse into DJ Kwame’s forthcoming studio project scheduled for an official release this September.
The project is strategically designed to push creative boundaries by delivering music that functions seamlessly both on the dancefloor and as a vehicle for meaningful social dialogue.
