Court Bars MacG From Releasing Episode With Benjy Over MySol Claims

The Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg has granted mining businessman Solomon “MySol” Soka Madibela an urgent interim interdict against podcast host Macgyver “MacG” Mukwevho and North West businessman Benjamin “Benjy” Maponya.

The order, granted today, Thursday, 8 October 2026, bars MacG and Maponya from releasing or broadcasting an episode featuring Maponya that contains allegations suggesting Madibela is involved in or suspected of criminal activity.

The order also directs Maponya to remove posts about Madibela and/or his company from his X account within two hours of being served.

A rule nisi has been issued for 22 October 2026, when the respondents must show cause why the interdict should not be made final.

The application follows Maponya’s public allegations about his former business relationship with Madibela and the N4 Cluster mining operation at Buffels West. The allegations have not been tested in court.

The interdict does not shut down Podcast and Chill but restricts specific allegations pending the return date.
