Polokwane City give update on Moloto who collapsed during AmaZulu clash

Polokwane City coach Willy Moloto lasted 30 minutes of their game against AmaZulu FC on Saturday afternoon.

The coach felt unwell before the game at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, but he insisted on going to the venue with his team.

But as the match progressed, he got worse and walked to the dressing room, but as he did so, he collapsed in the tunnel. Paramedics treated him on site. He was then rushed to hospital and kept overnight.

Acoording to Moloto’s assistant, Mkhuseli Sentane says the warning signs were there before kick-off.

“Before we came here, he caught a very heavy flu,” Sentane said after the match. “But because he’s a strong man, he said no, he will come and be with us.

“But unfortunately, when we were sitting there and trying to give instructions to the players, it became serious.

“So that’s why he was taken to the dressing room. I just want to wish him a speedy recovery so that he can come back to be with us. Let’s hope that he is fine because it’s just the flu.”

The FIFA break now does more than reset the table. Polokwane only return on 18 October, away to Siwelele FC.
