MK Party Expels Pumlani Kubukeli and Khanyisile Litchfield-Tshabalala

The Office of the President of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) has officially announced the immediate expulsion of two prominent members, Pumlani Kubukeli and Dr Khanyisile Litchfield-Tshabalala.

According to an official media statement released on Thursday, the decisive action follows a series of actions and conduct by the two individuals that the party leadership deemed detrimental to the organization’s reputation, integrity, and interests.

The party noted that their behavior undermined organizational unity and internal discipline.

The expulsions were executed under the executive authority granted to the Office of the President by Section 7(2)(h) of the MK Party Constitution.

This specific provision empowers the President to establish, restructure, appoint, or remove organizational structures and deployees to safeguard the party’s strategic direction.

Following the termination of their memberships, the MK Party’s Secretary-General formally contacted the Speaker of the National Assembly.

This communication initiates the official legislative process required to remove both Kubukeli and Litchfield-Tshabalala from their seats in Parliament.

The party concluded its statement by reaffirming its commitment to discipline and comradeship, while wishing both expelled members well in their future endeavors.
