Bulawayo Funeral Held for Family of UK Murder Accused Ndodana Tshuma After Repatriation
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe: Grief has descended on Bulawayo as funeral services for the family of murder accused Ndodana Khanyisa Tshuma began on Tuesday following the repatriation of their remains from the United Kingdom.
The family’s return to Zimbabwe comes weeks after a devastating tragedy that shocked communities in both Britain and southern Africa.
Tshuma is facing three murder charges in the United Kingdom after police accused him of killing his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, and their two daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, England.
According to UK authorities, the bodies of the victims were discovered after Tshuma had already left the country. Police allege that he fled to South Africa on 5 July 2026, two days before the discovery of the bodies.
His escape triggered an international manhunt involving law enforcement agencies across borders.
Tshuma was arrested by the South African Police Service (SAPS), working with Interpol, on 15 July 2026 in Kensington, Johannesburg.
Following his arrest, he appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on a separate charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm while authorities processed proceedings related to his extradition to the United Kingdom.
He is expected to return to the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on 27 August 2026.
Meanwhile, in Bulawayo, relatives and mourners gathered to bid farewell to Nothabo, Natalie and Nala as the family seeks closure after the tragedy.
The case has drawn international attention, with investigations continuing in both South Africa and the UK as authorities work towards bringing the matter before the courts.
Tshuma remains an accused person and has not yet been convicted. The allegations against him will be tested through the legal process.
