Orlando Pirates Coach Ouaddou Confirms Sebastian Pedersen Arrival Date After ‘Haaland’ Comparisons

Orlando Pirates, Sebastian Pedersen,

Orlando Pirates supporters eager to see new signing Sebastian Pedersen in action will not have to wait much longer, with head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou confirming that the Norwegian striker’s arrival in South Africa is imminent.

The Buccaneers sparked excitement across South African football last weekend when they announced the signing of Pedersen, a forward whose goal scoring record and attacking highlights quickly caught the attention of fans.

The striker’s reputation has already created huge expectations, with some supporters comparing his style and finishing ability to Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland. However, those eager to see the so called “Haaland” arrival in the black and white jersey were left waiting when Pedersen missed Pirates’ opening Betway Premiership fixture against Milford FC.

Pirates secured a 2 0 victory in their season opener, but the absence of their new attacking recruit raised questions about when he would join the squad.

Speaking after the win, Ouaddou moved to reassure supporters that Pedersen remains part of the club’s plans and his arrival is only a matter of time.

“Sebastian will definitely join us,” Ouaddou said. “He is the type of player who can add quality to the strikers we already have.”

The Pirates coach also highlighted that Pedersen will face strong competition for a starting position, with the squad already featuring several attacking options, including Evidence Makgopa, Boitumelo Radiopane, Yanela Mbuthuma and Sifiso Luthuli.

“We already have Radiopane, Mbuthuma, Makgopa and Luthuli. He will become part of that competition,” said Ouaddou.

The arrival of Pedersen is expected to increase competition among Pirates’ forwards as the club looks to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours this season.

Ouaddou revealed that the Norwegian striker is excited about beginning his new chapter with one of South Africa’s biggest football clubs and is eager to join his new teammates.

“I think he is looking forward to coming to South Africa to join a big club. We are expecting him and I hope to have him with the group very soon,” he said.

The Pirates mentor also acknowledged the growing anticipation among supporters, who have been closely following updates on the striker’s arrival.

“The fans are waiting for him, and I know they are becoming impatient. Hopefully, he will be with us soon,” Ouaddou added.

With expectations already building around Pedersen, his first appearance in an Orlando Pirates shirt is set to attract significant attention. Supporters will now be watching closely for the moment the Norwegian forward finally steps onto the pitch and begins his Buccaneers journey.
