Woman Arrested for Attempted Murder After Allegedly Throwing Boiling Water on Victim During Huhudi Argument
A quiet Friday afternoon in Pholarpark, Rosendal, turned into a scene of horror when a woman allegedly suffered severe burn injuries after being scalded with boiling water during an argument, leading to the arrest of a 32 year old woman on a charge of attempted murder.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Huhudi confirmed that the suspect was arrested following the alleged attack, which took place on Friday, 31 July 2026.
According to a preliminary police report, officers were called to the area after receiving a complaint about the incident. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 32 year old woman with serious burn wounds to her upper body.
The victim was reportedly in intense pain and unable to communicate with officers at the time.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were immediately contacted, and paramedics transported the injured woman to a local hospital, where she was admitted for further medical treatment.
Police have not released further details surrounding the circumstances that led to the alleged attack, including what triggered the argument between the two women. Investigations into the incident are continuing.
The arrested woman is expected to appear before the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 3 August 2026, where she will face a charge of attempted murder.
