Razzi Razz Releases ‘Africa Our Land’, A Powerful Anthem For African Unity

Razzi Razz, Africa Our Land song, Razzi Razz new single

Five years after making waves with his club hit ‘Outta Control’, Durban artist Razzi Razz has returned with a powerful new sound, using music as a platform to confront Africa’s challenges and call for greater unity.

Durban’s Razzi Razz is no stranger to commanding attention. Years after dominating nightlife scenes with his energetic Hip Hop anthem ‘Outta Control’, the visionary artist has returned with a completely different message.

This time, the basslines have been replaced with reflection, emotion and a deeper social message.

His latest single, ‘Africa Our Land’, marks a dramatic shift in his artistic journey, moving away from traditional party anthems and towards conscious storytelling that explores the struggles facing communities across the continent.

For Razzi Razz, the song is not defined by genre but by its purpose.

“‘Africa Our Land’ is not a Hip Hop song, it’s a beautiful song,” he says. “We are all Africans, and Africa as a continent is our land. But our continent, country to country, is faced with similar struggles, crises and problems.”

The track examines issues affecting African nations, from social divisions to economic challenges, while questioning why communities continue to see themselves as separate instead of part of a larger continental identity.

A Musical Reflection On Africa’s Shared Challenges

Razzi describes the song as a mirror reflecting the realities many African countries face.

According to the artist, recognising problems is the first step towards finding solutions.

“A doctor will tell you that the first step in identifying a solution to a problem is to first admit there’s a problem,” he explains.

“‘Africa Our Land’ highlights, at a very basic level, some of the problems we face on our continent, country to country.”

At the heart of the song is a message of unity. Razzi believes that many challenges are intensified by division and that Africans need to rethink how they view one another.

“The biggest real issue is we are separating ourselves from each other country to country, instead of seeing ourselves as Africans, one people united,” he says.

A Timely Release During A Period Of Social Tension

The release arrives during a period of heightened social conversations in South Africa.

The country has recently witnessed intense debates around migration, national identity and community tensions, including protests and campaigns linked to illegal immigration concerns.

Against this backdrop, ‘Africa Our Land’ enters a complex national conversation, encouraging listeners to look beyond division and consider collective solutions.

Through the single, Razzi Razz hopes to inspire awareness, encourage young people to become more engaged in society and motivate communities to take greater responsibility for their future.

His goals behind the song include:

  • Raising awareness about shared challenges affecting African communities.
  • Encouraging people to rethink their attitudes towards local communities and economic participation.
  • Inspiring young South Africans to become more involved in upcoming local and national elections.
  • Promoting independence and community driven solutions rather than depending only on government intervention.

Razzi Razz Rejects The Political Label

Although ‘Africa Our Land’ carries a strong social message, Razzi Razz does not describe himself as a political activist.

The artist says the song is part of his creative expression rather than a permanent move away from entertainment.

His ability to move between meaningful storytelling and large scale entertainment remains a defining part of his career.

In 2025, Razzi played a major role in organising the historic Durban Music Fest (DMF), a sold out event held at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The festival featured international rap superstar Rick Ross and showcased a groundbreaking mix of South African sounds, including Maskandi, Gqom, AmaPiano, 3Step and Hip Hop.

The event demonstrated Razzi’s ability to unite different musical communities while creating platforms that celebrate African talent.

From Party Anthems To Continental Messages

With ‘Africa Our Land’, Razzi Razz has entered a new chapter, proving that his creativity extends far beyond entertainment.

Whether organising major stadium concerts or creating music designed to spark conversations, the Durban artist continues to challenge expectations and redefine his place in the industry.

‘Africa Our Land’ is now available on major digital streaming and download platforms.
